Cameron Jibril Thomaz Born in 1987, Wiz Khalifa has an edgy talent that has resulted in power-packed collaborations with artists like Curren$y, Chris Brown, 50 Cent, Machine Gun Kelly, Kelly Rowland, and Mac Miller. ‘Khalifa’ means successor in Arabic, while Wiz is short for ‘wisdom’. 

After leaving Warner Bros, Khalifa released his second album, Deal or No Deal, in late 2009. Keeping the momentum at fever pitch, he also issued the mixtape Kush and Orange Juice as a free download in the spring of 2010. Response was so positive that he signed with Atlantic Records. Wiz Khalifa’s debut Atlantic single, ‘Black and Yellow’, peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. An album, Rolling Papers, came out in March 2011, followed by O.N.I.F.C. in 2012. The latter was supported by two well-received singles: ‘Work Hard, Play Hard’ and ‘Remember You’.

Wiz Khalifa’s fourth album, Blacc Hollywood, came out in August 2014. The flagship single, ‘We Dem Boyz’, was an instant hit. He also issued ‘See You Again’ for the Furious 7 movie soundtrack; it peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Khalifa himself even made the covered Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list for musical talent. Pittsburgh City Council declared December 12, 2012 to be Wiz Khalifa Day in the city.
